Research Analyst

ABOUT CBCAC The Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community (CBCAC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded as a coalition of service providers and volunteers of Chicago’s Greater Chinatown area (Chinatown/Armour Square, Bridgeport, McKinley Park, Brighton Park, South Loop, Douglas/Bronzeville) to achieve community development through civic engagement, political empowerment , and policy advocacy. CBCAC is also involved in initiatives impacting other Chicago neighborhoods and suburban areas where Chinese Americans live in significant numbers.


DUTIES Primarily responsible for helping the community learn what offerings they need to provide, to whom to market these offerings to, and how to promote them by using focus groups, designing and conducting surveys in partnership with academic research and community organizations, preparing data analysis reports, and assisting community partners with marketing campaigns.


  • Research community issues, community planning projects and prepare articles/reports to share with community partners.

  • In collaboration with research partners and other community organizations, devise and evaluate methods for collecting data, such as surveys, opinion polls, focus groups, round table meetings, community outreach events, etc.

  • Compile obtained data, depending on the current project, and execute an analysis and presentation. Data may be in Chinese and presentations will be made in both English and Chinese when required.

  • Review existing marketing programs and communication strategies of businesses, community development campaigns and other resident offerings, and analyze their effectiveness.

  • Recommend marketing and outreach campaign optimizations and assist in implementing  marketing tools to support various community businesses, new developments, community offerings, upcoming community changes and other various community development projects.

REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in marketing analytics, marketing, or related field.

  • Must be fluent in Chinese.
