Civic Engagement and Advocacy
Our goal is to amplify our community’s voices through civic engagement and advocacy.
Get Out the Vote
Each election year, we ensure Chinatown’s voices are heard through voter registration, education, and advocacy. We overcome language and technology barriers to make sure each citizen can make an informed vote!

Redistricting
Every 10 years after the Census, the redistricting process redraws the political boundaries of local and state areas. CBCAC did this in 2010, and in 2021, we are focusing on creating a map that equitably represents our community.
Chinatown Development
Advisory Committee
CDAC works to ensure the Chinatown community has the right to stay, the culture is preserved, and the voices are included in future developments. We work towards providing resources, education, and advocacy.
High School Advocacy
For many years, CBCAC has advocated for a Near Southside Neighborhood High School. Currently, there is no nearby high school for our students to go to, resulting in long commute times. The Education Committee, led by Karen Chiu, Executive Director of Project Vision, is working diligently to continue this project.
