Join us for an afternoon of cultural stories, oral histories, and racial solidarity through the art of storytelling! Young members of our community have been working on their stories and allyship. Origin Mental Health Workshop
Our Origin Youth are hosting a Teen Mental Health workshop, aimed at educating parents on how to identify and assist with the problems their teens are facing! Historically, there has been a lack of attention to AAPI mental health due to cultural stigma, language barriers, etc., and our youth want to help address the issue!
We will have a guest speaker, Melissa Wee, who is the Mental Health Clinical Manager of the Midwest Asian Health Association. Melissa is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).
The workshop will take place on Saturday, December 9th from 2pm-3:30 pm at the Chinatown Branch Library 1st Floor Meeting Room. It will take place in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. You can register here

2023 Mayoral Candidate Forum
Asian Americans Advancing Justice | Chicago and Pan-Asian Voter Empowerment Coalition (PAVE) are hosting a 2023 Mayoral Candidate Forum. Learn about the Chicago Mayoral Candidates’ initiatives in community issues like public safety, immigration, language access, affordable housing, and Chicago Public Schools.
The Pan-Asian Voter Empowerment (PAVE) Coalition consists of 16 Asian American advocacy and direct service organizations in the Chicagoland area. Founded in 2011, the PAVE Coalition focuses on increasing voter turnout and civic participation among Asian Americans and improving the lives of Asian Americans through advocacy and policy change.
