Chinatown Safety Meeting

In February 2020, a tragedy occurred resulting in the death of two Chinatown community members. Within 24 hours of the incident, CBCAC gathered 18 partner organizations to host a Community Safety Meeting about the tragedy to amplify our community’s concerns and provide information from elected representatives and the Chicago Police Department (CPD). The event attracted 283 individuals—most were community members unaffiliated with an organization. We provided live interpretation for Cantonese and Mandarin speakers.
